A consistent Pilates practice holds many benefits.  At Ascend Dance Academy we encourage Pilates and movement principles at all levels to encourage a healthy mind-body connection at every stage of development.  

Some benefits of a consistent Pilates practice include:

  • Increased muscle strength and tone, particularly your abdominal muscles, lower back, hips, and buttocks
  • Balanced muscular strength in the body by focusing on the deep intrinsic muscles
  • Enhanced coordination and control of your limbs
  • Deepens the use of different kinds of breath, strengthening the diaphragm and aiding in physical endurance
  • Supports the dance aesthetic by strengthening and toning muscles while also elongating them

Available Equipment: Reformer/Tower Combo, Split Pedal Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, Various props.
